Before launching Diamond Mountain Precision Gunsmithing in Susanville, California, I spent 2 years learning about the gun building craft full-time and another 6 months studying further part-time. However, I have been working on guns since I was 16.
All that exposure to gun-making has given me the technical know-how and experience in all aspects of the craft and trade.
Suffice to say that at 63, I have successfully evolved into an advantageously adept at making guns fire and shoot accurately. I also have an extensive background in rifle stock finishes ranging from wood and fiberglass, as well as inletting and glass bedding.

How It All Began
How It All Began
- I wanted to give you a little back ground so here we go. Fresh out of high school I joined the United States Marine Corp. During my four year tour I was meritoriously promoted three times up to the rank of sergeant. I received a meritorious mass from a brigadier General and was awarded expert rifleman 3 times. I was in the reserves for two years in which time I was promoted to staff sergeant. After being honorably discharged from the Corp I worked in construction for 11 years, I became a certified welder and metal fabricator. While working in the construction industry I used my GI bill to take a two year gunsmithing course through Modern Schools of America. I worked on guns for friends and family. The construction trade offered little in a retirement so I went to the academy to be a correctional officer. Some years later I retired from the Ca. Department of corrections. I decided to go back to college and pursue my dream to be a gunsmith. In my first year of college, I graduated at the top of my gunsmithing class and for that I received a scholarship toward my second year at Lassen Community College. After graduating from college I furthered my education by taking advanced summer classes. Now I am a retired peace officer and a Marine Corps vet ready to pursue my passion of gunsmithing. Give me a call and lets build your dream rifle!
